It takes a lot of determination to have a really good, honest, caring connection. I think it would be easier to give up sometimes in the face of big difficulties. The closest I've managed yet has been in the work I do as a support worker with adults who have serious mental health problems or learning disabilities. I know I don't always get things right, but I seem to get lots of opportuntities to try again. I notice how I challenge the people I work with and how they challenge me - it can be very rewarding or very upsetting. That's also how I imagine parenthood to be.Charlie Bluefishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16941238623876556868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6806359516352166642.post-55321088822468096612008-08-23T05:33:00.000+01:002008-08-23T05:33:00.000+01:00Those are all things that I also desire for my chi...Those are all things that I also desire for my children. I think that it is probably something that most parents wish for their little ones. Perhaps where most parents go wrong is when they lose sight of the goal - the bigger picture - and begin to focus only on the here-and-now. They get bogged down and distracted by current child-rearing woes and forget which way they were trying to go. Or it becomes too hard and the parents give up in the face of conflict.Jamiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05099566925800033131noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6806359516352166642.post-17720566526259572862008-07-18T00:14:00.000+01:002008-07-18T00:14:00.000+01:00Thanks anonymous.
